down here in Waterford we have something similar looking to baps, we call them blas they have been around for years long before baps, Waterford is the only county in Ireland you can get blas, mstickle

Hey, I'm a southerner by birth - we call bread rolls, well, rolls! Occasionally baps if their big, or buns if they're for burgers.

Now, a WELSH cob is something I understand, although I'd rather not try to split one & spread butter on it!
