sudden change in behaviour Empty sudden change in behaviour

Hi,
Writing about Percy again. he's been fine for months now, sometimes unpredictable with male dogs but yesterday he passed a dog whilst both on the leads. then when we let him off the lead after they had parted, he went back and went for the dog. Again, yesterday afternoon he passed a dog that he is familiar with, then pulled the lead out of my hands and went back and was aggressive to the dog. This morning while my partner was walking him, he took off across the field and went for another dog. this is not acceptable. Is it another hormone stage? any advice gratefully received.

It could well be hormones, but has he had any negative interactions with dogs recently?

You may need to go back to basics with distractions & maybe a long line instead of totally off lead.

Thanks and yes he has. A rotti jumped it out of a car and was very overbearing making Percy cower and feel very scared last week
Nothing actually happened but he was nervous.

That could be it - he's getting his retaliation in first!

Back to basics - distract & reward every time you see a dog & don't let him off lead until you're sure he's okay again. A long line (20 or 30 feet will be God) will probably work for the time being.

I will! 30foot lead at the ready. Took hi. Out this morning and he met 2 females that he adores so had a good run around off lead and playtime. Think it's definitely a 'man' thing!
