search harder? there are hundreds of those hollow trees in Sherwood, and i reckon we looked in most of them Big Grin
we did see a rabbit though, and chased that instead, but it ran through a fence, so we lost it,Crying or Very sad
i bet it will think twice about coming out again for a while, Laughing
and Foxie chased a squirrel up a tree,

right then, i'm off to bed, it's hard work running round all those woods Smile

i'm an "only dog" Foxie (the terrier) is my mums mums dog ,
cor! thats a mouthfull even for a Staffy Big Grin
from monday to friday i go to stay with Foxie during the day, while my mum is at work, or i would be "home alone",
which is great cos we get taken out to places like Sherwood forest, Clumber park, Thoresby and lots of other great places for long runs in the woods,
like today, we went to Clumber Park, which once belonged to the Duke of Newcastle, and covers about 3,800 acres,
so there are plenty of different walks for us to do
we live in the area of Bassetlaw, in North Nottinghamshire, which is known as "the Gateway to the Dukeries" because of all the great ducal estates in the area, all within a short drive from home
so what is probably famous world wide for Robin hood, grand houses and huge estates etc,
is just our back yard Big Grin

its great being a dog Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Hi Vanessa,
Sherwood (and all the other great places we go for walks) is something that we take for granted, living on the doorstep like we do,
but we are very lucky to be able to go there for long runs in the woods Big Grin
every day we go on a different walk in the area, so there is always something new for us to see

lifes great, especially if you are a Staffy Big Grin

Hi, that would be great, you cant miss us! well, at least you will hear Foxie , as hes a bit on the noisy side Wink

we have a "favourite walks" section on our forum, which you may like to see, there is a google map and a short description of the walk plus some pictures too,
so you might get some ideas for a day out in the area while the kids are off school Big Grin

(we are working on putting them on our website too with more information and pictures than the ones on the forum, but its a long job and we have only just started so its a "work in progress" )

I spent a lot of time there as a kid, bike riding, horse riding and dog walking and not forgetting the picnics & icecream eating in the summer! lol Tongues I will take a look at your maps as seen as you live closer, there may be a trail I haven't found yet! Smile Thanks for that. We will keep our ears peeled for Foxie then. lol Laughing
