Alfie looks huge next to Cookie in the pic with the ball! I have a friend who has a pup from the shelter who is a dead ringer for Cookie. She was told the pup was a hound x whippet cross but her personality and manners just scream staffy. She is soo much like my little staffy girl, just a little taller and leaner. I swear she is at least a staffy cross. Such a gorgeous brindle coat...so stunning....I love it!

Cookie is a rescue but we do know a bit about her history. She was sold to her original owner as a full staffie. I know that her mother was a full staffie, however, I think her fathers breed may be debatable. Cookie is a very diddy little girl, about 11 kgs, she was the runt of the litter. I have often wondered if she could have whippet in her as she loves to run, and run...and run some more. She also loves to chase birds and rabbits when she is out in the field and when she has spotted one she is gone like the wind! She is very staffie like in her love of people and cuddles however.

Alfie is 16 month old there, has he always been chunky or was he quite thin when he was younger. His face and ears look so much like my Billy's and I think Billy will grow up to be just like him. I can see how they both look so much alike but Billy is 9 months old and is thin. Im hoping he fills out once he turn's 1.

During his first year he went through phases where he looked quite gangly then he would fill out again. He has really started filling out over the last few months. I have heard the saying that they grow in height in the first year, put on muscle in the second year and head finally develops in the third year.

Thanks for that, he is an amazing dog, I got brought up with all kinds of dogs mostly lab's and spanials but I have never seen a dog as friendly and loving as Billy is. It's amazing how much bad press these dogs get and it's mostly people who have not had anything to do with a staffy that says the bad things about them.

I got to say Alfie looks lovely too, he does look like he is filling out a bit and he looks very muscular. Did he look anything like Billy at 9 months old? or do you not rememebr? I suppose you dont relise them growing until you see photos of what they were like.

Alfie is the same, he loves everyone and is such a happy dog. He is my first staffie and I couldn't imagine life without him now.

I can't really remember how big he was at 9 months but here is a pic of him taken last January. He would have been around 8 months old.



He is taller than the breed standard, 18 and 3 quarter inches and he weighs in at 24.2 kgs.

Oh he is just like Billy. Thanks for this it has helped me so much, Ive been trying to ask people what Billy will grow up like and the man next door is the only person that has told me he will be quite big when he is fully grown. Other people have told me he will always be thin and isnt a proper staffy. Looking at your Alfie he does look like the way Billy is now so theres hope yet lol.
