What do you feed your dogs?

So we have two staffy x pooches, one male and one female.. the male is around 2 and the female is about 4 months old.

Currently we feed them on hills science diet... the older male is on the sensitive skin one as in the summer he gets bad red itchy horrible skin. The pup is just on the pup formula.

Our vet told us off for giving him mince and brown rice etc. and told us it wasn't a balanced diet and that he needed to eat proper dog food which would help his skin... she never recommended science diet directly.

I've been looking into making my own dog food, as the older male is pretty fussy and doesn't really love that food. And it's expensive, so I don't really want to keep buying it if he doesn't love it. The pup on the other hand will eat anything!

Does anyone here make their own dog food? Had anyone had any success feeding their dog homemade food whilst keeping a skin condition at bay?

Nature diet here too and grain free biscuits

We feed raw. Suki has some food allergies and this has worked great for us. We also feed rice on occasion but it doesn't have much nutrional value unless it is brown rice.

We feed raw now, kibble irritates his skin like crazy, but because he's been ill he's been on nature's diet until his stomach is better!!

I feed raw too 

So by raw do you mean mince, chicken, turkey?? And do you buy human grade meat? Do you include any vegetables or anything like that with it?

There are suppliers, I use to dog butcher!! Rachel recommend me to them!! Brilliant all minces up and human grade, she does complete minces as well. So you don't have to worry about all the ratios

We use skinners which has no grain and her skin has improved so she is no longer itchy

I was using Lily's Kitchen tins until recently but it was too expensive (almost £5 a day). Now I feed him Nature's Menu which is just as good but cheaper. He loves it and his coat is so smooth he looks like a seal.

For dog food lily's kitchen smells divine....ahah
