Serious problem Empty Serious problem

Post by peppa Wed Aug 20 2014, 17:51

I don't even know if peppas over her season as her nipples are seriously swollen and when we were in the park (for 1st time after more than a month) I have noticed a kind of dark transparent discharge after few days there was nothing. Anyway she behaved totally out of order and nothing that I know from before. She had 2 tennis balls but was chasing every other dogs balls . There was a woman with a ball launcher that peppa kept jumping on her trying to get to the launcher so kept jumping very high! I told the woman to just throw the ball but she preferred my dog jumping on her on peppa getting her ball although I told her she wouldn't do anything. I explained she wasn't there for a month and is excited but she kept giving me nasty looks and told me my dog should be on a lead. I managed to take her away and kept playing in different area when 2 guys with football came and she got mad barking and jumping on them trying to get the ball not listening to me when I ordered her to stop! I had to jump on her and restrain her. I'm so embarrassed and again it never happened b4. Any ideas what is it and what should I do? I'm so upset.

Might be worth a trip to the vet to get her checked over.
A dark discharge could be a worry x

Yes I'd pop her to the vet Lily. Rule out any infection.
They can give you something for the swollen boobs too  Smile

Definitely a trip to the vet and you may want to keep her on a long training line in the mean time Smile

i would say she was so excited to be out again that is why she did'nt listen to you,may be keep her on a long lead for the next week or so,i'd definitely pop her to your vets as said just to rule out infection, end of season the bleeding goes like a straw colour discharge, they can still be caught out by a male dog so may be wait till it is all gone

Thanks. It's actually the 26th day. It seems like the final stage to me. I think she got way over excited being with all the doggies again. Ill take her on  quieter time tomorrow and if she does the same we go home but
I always take her to a gated area before we join the others so she can release some energy but couldn't today.
Could it be the horrible teenager stage? She's 10.5 months now.
Yesterday I took her 1st time late in evening so was empty but it was really late and they are closing the park so she didn't have enough time and didn't want to go home so didn't come when I called her but kept following me . I feel like I'm back in time to peppa at 3-4 months god
Help us lol
I'm sure she's not in pain but will call the vet to be safe but I doubt it something is wrong with her well except hormones. Too much hormones

keep an eye on it and you didnt say if it smelt? if it smells its infection but id say it was the end of the season for day 26.
She will be hyper for a couple of reasons, one like you say she has been away from dogs for a while but the main one being she has just had a massive hit of hormones and is now a young lady. possibly still has a bit of tartiness about her, did she ever pull her tail to the side when she saw other dogs?
she has just gone through a big transformation in her life so expect a bit of out of character behaviour for a little while. she will settle back to her old routine but may be a little bit more confident than she used to be.

Tnx Nathan no there's no smell I checked. And she hasn't moved her tail
But she didn't have real opportunities last week she got really angry when the poor hog try to smell her bum . She's normally confident but she was far too boisterous today I know she want to play and is ball obsessed but I as well wouldn't be happy if a 18 kg staffy is barking at me and jumping as high as my head trying to get the ball or keep snatching it from the other dogs. This behaviour has to stop.
How long did it took laksa to get back to her normal self? And we're her tits swollen as well? Although they are smaller now.

Been to vet. She's not sure yet but thinks it might be phantom pregnancy of cistosis or both. Anyway she don't have fever so I've got inflamatory pain killer for her and need to see how it develops in few days. When we went out there was a lovely ridjeback insisting of mating with her so I'm thinking maybe she's still in season and therefore her boobs are still swollen? I'm gutted .
