farting big time

Hi all just wondered if your staffs have a BIG farting problem as buster can clear a room

his farts were that bad this weekend that i had my dressing gown rapped round me head twice and my candles buring plus i was armed and dangerous with 2 air freshener cans

in the end i gave up and went bed as i could'nt take it anymore

i have some herbel tabs from the vets as buster let one go on the operating table on friday which also cleared the room and she said it made her gag and they could'nt get rid of the smell all afternoon

just wondered if any of you have a very windy dog

hahaha its a staff trait im affraid. What food do u feed him....a high quality food may help to improve it also invest in some charcol biscuits u can buy them from pets at home x

Used to work in my favour when I had a bar to clear She was on Royal Canin and she was very smelly, recently changed her onto James Welbeloved and its calmed a lot. I'm afraid they do have smelly pops!!

lol buster is my 3rd staffy and i can honestly say i have never smelt anything like it he is on bakers puppy at the mo its the only thing he will eat i have tryed everything as he is a little fussy unless its roast beef or chicken

and to top it all he dropped another one in the vets on the way out tonight i was sooooo embarrassed i legged it

It's so embarrassing, but kinda funny! Moo is my second and I found there food made it worse. Bakers isn't the best so maybe trying a different food would help. I know it workrd with me and I wasn't bothered! Being your 3rd I guess you know! Just thought I'd share a link

I'd get him off the Bakers - awful stuff! Full of additives that are only there for the look of the food (to please human eyes) and can lead to hyperactivity & bad stomachs!

Have a look through the link Janey gave you, or maybe consider raw feeding.

i live in a flat,and the other day i got into the lift with 3other people who i didnt know and what did blake decide to do,a fart lol stunk the lift out and they was gasping for fresh air....never went so red in my life haha just had to laugh about it with them though.

I can recommend charcoal tablets or biscuits....

Jethro's pop offs stink too, don't worry.. and I notice Winston is following in his big brother's footsteps...

time for me to get some more charcoal biscuits for those 2....

Bruno's pops stink but not too bad now and less of them. We tried Charcoal biscuits, he loved him but his tummy didn't but they might the way to go with your dog

Tilly doesn't smell any more since I have been using a mix of raw and barking heads puppy food.

You are what you eat! My girls used to have smelly bums too til I changed to raw, like you they could clear a room and that was when they were eating JWB.

I too would suggest getting him off the bakers and onto a decent food. Bakers is full of e-numbers and additives and the soft chunk bits are bad for tooth decay too. For the price you could get a much better food, barking heads which Tilly's dad feeds is a good food, I would also recommend James Well Beloved and fish4dogs ooh also Orijen.

harvey isn't to bad but when he has farts he has them all day and they clear a room luckily he doesn't seem to get them everyday!

the worst thing is the little "angels" do itand then scarper and leave you to it - like there is no way im staying here with that smell. Woody likes to go and sit near my guests, let one drop and then runs outside for some fresh air!

thanks for that looking at trying the barf diet buster is doing mr wippys everywhere so im thinking the ham hock bone aint suiting or its the bakers

I think if you change food you will notice the difference bakers is not good

Oh Poppy can have some really stinky farts sometimes.. I got into my bed the other night, and what did Poppy decide to do under the covers? Oh yeah, you can imagine.. I had to open the windows really wide, and it still took about 10 good minutes to finally smell fresh air! Stinky girl!

Take care with ham bones - they tend to be very high in salt. And don't give cooked bones of any sort, they may splinter & cause internal injuries.

Good advice, never knew about that!

we had the same problem with Mambo at the beginning. it stopped completely (oh well, he does it sometimes ) after we switched to raw. HUGE difference. but he didn't accept dry food in many other ways anyway (5-6 poops a day etc)

Mazda's on JWB and Zero Royal Canin and both can clear a room in seconds

Did giggle to myself the other day tho a friend visited with her hubby who REALLY dont like dogs not only did they insist on keep dive bombing him, knocking a drink out his hand and in his lap but they then thought gasing the room would be a nice welcoming too!! Then Zero came to the beach with us (friends hubby wasnt too impressed by a dog being in his car anyway) and Zero decided also that was the perfect time to gas us
