you could try getting her a crate,my pup used to be exactly the same.we got him a crate when he was 10 weeks old and he loved it. Also if she cant make it through the night yet split the crate so half is newspaper and half is her bed.Jett is 13 weeks old now and he sleeps from 11pm to 7 am.
hope this helps

if u defo do not want her sleeping on your bed forever then get her in her own bed/crate sooner rather than later, coz your only making a rod for your own back lol. The longer u leave it the harder it will be, yes she will prob cry and whine 4 a while but she'll get used 2 it x

My advice would be to change the sleeping arrangements ASAP if you do not want her sleeping in your bed all the time. The longer you leave it, the harder it will be. She is only young, so u can expect a bit of crying etc... but stay strong and don't give in to her. She will be fine, and she WILL learn.

Good luck

a crate is a great thing to have, they keep your puppy safe at night

Is there any advise on stopping them crying.

We've only had Kayla home one night but last night she was crying from 12 - 2 and then started again at 5. She's only 8 weeks.

I know its for the best but the neighbours and i could really do with some sleep.

How long does the process usually take?

We crate trained harvey when we first got him, until he could hold it overnight and at almost 5 months old he now can, so he sleeps in our bed now. So not much help really as we wanted him to sleep with us eventually anyway Big Grin

if you put your puppy in a crate you could try leaving a radio on low volume in the same room.....

If you don't want your pup on your bed definitely change the sleeping arrangements ASAP like Lisa said. Otherwise it will be so much harder to break the habit.

One night on the bed was enough for us. Wee, poo, and puppies crawling/laying on your face. Ugh!

We put them in the bathroom the second night with a small column heater (it's the middle of winter and Canberra gets cold), a blanket and then their bed on that. They cried and howled for ages, so I went in there and sat on the floor next to the bed and they went to sleep fairly quickly. The next night when it was time to put them in there, I turned off the bathroom light but left the hallway light on, set them down in their beds and sat with them until they settled. When I left I turned off the hallway light. There were a few minutes of whining and then they went to sleep. The third night I put them in there and they just curled up and went to sleep.

Obviously the bathroom is not a long term solution, so we will be purchasing two crates shortly.

Definitely act now though!

the crying will stop, billy cried for a few nights and then stopped, he was in a crate though, with a sweaty t-shirt from one of my boys
