Worm in poop Empty Worm in poop

Post by Krs1 Thu Apr 24 2014, 21:44

Hey

Just found a worm in Wilbert's poop, it is the first time since I got him on Saturday. He got his worming tablet yesterday from the vet. Not really sure what the process is. The worm seemed alive when it came out but dies within seconds.

Basically is this his body flushing them out or he actually has worms and should I go see the vet. Very surprised where he got it from. Could he have picked it up from the my garden since Saturday?

I'm not really sure but if he had the wormer then it is probably the wormer working?

He could quite possibly have had them when you got him. When we first wormed Bane, later that day he had loads come out! He was completely infested poor guy!
For a day or two after there were also a couple of worms in each poo so it must have been the tablet working. Some were alive, some dead but all died after a few minutes of being out.

We gave Alfie a worming tablet about 3 weeks ago and the next day he had a worm in his poo so yes I think the tablets just flush them out Smile xx

def the wormer working, they wont come out otherwise as they latch onto the intestine. if there are lots and lots its worth reworming in two weeks but as youve only had a few id say you nipped it in the bud quite early and can carry on with the normal regime.

Remember when we got Lula and noticed one in her poo so gross. Lucky i had some worming tablets in and wormed her straight away loads came out. I don`t think she had ever been wormed before we got her
