Alfie has found his voice.. Empty Alfie has found his voice..

Post by michellemartin Fri Apr 04 2014, 15:58

Alfie has very recently found his voice and is barking at everything, in particular if our neighbours/their dogs go out into their gardens or if someone walks by the house. He's not barking aggressively because his tail is always wagging - I think he just wants to get to them so he can play, but my worry is that other people don't know that and may think he is being aggressive. Does anyone have any tips for getting him out of this habit? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Xx

We use the Quiet word for Rocky and gets a reward when he is quiet and not when he barks for no reason.

Yeah if you can teach a quiet command or use a distraction, have a read of this  Smile

We have taught Bane to "speak" on command, but also taught "enough" to make him stop. It is so cute when they first find their voice Smile

Snoop never barked he was such a laid back dog. Lula is not much of a barking but has found her voice. On walks she does not make a sound but in the back garden she will. It is normally if she hears someone near by she will start. If she upstairs and hears something she will bark and give a little growl.
