Thought I'd share this with you..

My mum was listening to the radio and called me up at work to tell me that a guy with a staffie was talking on a radio show and he said he was fed up with dogs coming up to his on-lead dog and being aggressive or just being a nuisance so his remedy was to take smelling salts out with him, if a dog approaches and looks like its going to either be aggressive or is being a nuisance he holds the salts down and the dog moves away. You don't even have to hold the salts right near the other dog's nose just hold it close by. He said it never fails! I'm very tempted to try it, in fact I think I will

It can work and is a tried and tested deterant. It doesn't work for a determind dog however so be carefull. It induces a sneeze reflex which makes the dogs back off. But be warned.. I tried it with marley for his insane prey drive and he attacked it sneezing like mad and still biting away at it. He loves me to bits and but nearly broke my fingers snapping at it. Tbh not something I would recommend trying if your dog is head strong. Laska runs away from it while marley attacks it. He does better with verbal commands

Hmm I was wondering about that good to know. Axl is a big wuss he's not the one that starts fights he thinks all dogs are playing. I would be using it to ward off other dogs if they become a nuisance but if it might make them more aggressive I may not bother trying.
