I'd be devastated if I got it, but you can live a full life nowadays with all the meds and things.
I think it would be worse giving it too someone you lived if you didn't realise you had it.

It is something that can be lived with now because of all the new meds, still devastating though and yes life changing.

i know it hard to pass it on but i would still be nervous around people

I would if thought most people would be nervous around others, especially kids.
Can dogs get it? Or a similar strain? There are so many peoe that got it nowadays, what if you dog but someone who had it?

I think when we have a life changing disease it's extremely difficult to get our head round although my auto immune disease isn't contagious the fear and guilt that my children may inherit it tear's me apart every day

i think the cat flu is the same as HIV and i think that can be pass onto dog

Yes, I can. That was a scary time. I think the official advice was it you feel a stabbing sensation and you have a needle size mark go to your nearest a&e.
Poor nurses must of been inundated.
I watched a programme a while back, some nurses was going around doing HIV tests, theory were something like 80% accurate, one guy was told he had it but they would redo the test in lab conditions to double check, the poor guy was devastated, then it turntable out the test was wrong and he never had it!

It can be managed by medication now, but obviously I'd still be devastated.

Oh it would be devastating. Over here it is very much a reality and it terrifies me how ignorant people still are about it. A few years back our current president told people "you only need to take a shower after intercourse and you won't get HIV" and the health minister used to tell people that some potato would cure you - it's just horrific.

Needless to say, just about every cartoon about the president now depicts him as a monkey with a shower head attached to his head. Appropriate.
