Hi! I have wanted a Staff for 18 years now, and 2 days ago, I finally got a beautiful little girl She is almost 4 wks old, and although I thought I was through having babies, I am back to waking up for 2.30am feeds! I couldn't be happier though.. We are bonding so well because of it.

I agree Janey, usually responsible breeders do not let the pups leave their mother until they are at least 7 weeks old

I know Janey, I think it is disgraceful that she was sold so young! Her teeth are just starting to come through today and she's still walking like bambi on ice :/
I assumed the pups were going to be of age to leave, so I drove almost 2hrs, knocked on the ladies door, and she brought 8 pups out in a coles shopping basket, put it down on the front step, and said 'Which one do you want?'. I asked how old they were, she said 'about 4weeks?'. When I said they shouldn't be leaving their mum yet, she said that mum wasnt feeding them, and she was using puppy milk.
Honestly, knowing she was determined to sell them now, I wish I could have bought them all, to make sure they were properly looked after..
I dread to think of anyone buying one of the other 7, and putting them on the wrong formula, not feeding them often enough, or looking after them properly.
It breaks my heart that they were being discarded so easily.

I hope you have reported this irresponsible breeder to the KC and the RSPCA. Many "Breeders" will say that the mother has stopped feeding the puppies or a similar loads of rubbish to get rid of the little ones far too early. Sorry but we have heard this so many times it really does become very frustrating knowing what hard work has been created for you.

hia from me and sasha   ,can only echo what has been said,this person,i wont call them a breeder as breeders normally care what happens to the pups they have breed needs reporting.i hope all goes well with the little one and we are all here for any help you may need

I'm new to how this all works, so please forgive me. I don't know how to message anyone, can't seem to upload photos from my phone, and don't know if people get notified from a quote haha, but I'll get there..
Her little teeth started poking through yesterday, so yes, she is biting! Although at the moment, the only things she will bite, are me and her bed. Countless chew toys have not sparked her interest in the slightest.
I'm also currently trying to slowly introduce some mushy food. I'm trying her on some kitten mousse, before soggy biscuits to see how her little tummy goes with some solids in there, while keeping her on bottles of formula and pumpkin baby food (which she LOVES). I didn't think she would have much of a personality at this age, but its started coming out.. She acts very much the princess when it comes to having to lap up her food.. Instead, nudging my other hand, until I give her her bottle.
As much as I adore her, and in no way mind the work, I could ALWAYS use some tips or advice if anyone has any, on problems that are encountered at this age.

So sorry to hear about the "breeder", I really hope you reported them because that is totally unacceptable!
I'm glad you are putting in the time to make sure she has the best chance, I just hope the rest of the litter are as lucky!
