Breath Empty Breath

Post by Sara n Ozzy Thu Feb 06 2014, 21:47

Never noticed before but tonight Oz seems to have a bit of a smelly breath . Nothing has changed at all in his diet, is it normal? Is there anything I can give him to be a bit sweetener or could it be something else? I've looked in his mouth and cant see anything odd with his teeth?

You can get teeth brushes, basically like we do ours but I have a feeling it is something we should have got them used to at a younger age as I think Moo would hate it, but its really something we should all be doing x

I used to do their teeth with doggy toothpaste and my finger as they'd try to eat the toothbrush. A good knaw on a bone does the trick now. DO you get Dentistix for breath?

Chewing on a raw bone is a great natural toothbrush  Big Grin Adding a little apple cidar vinegar to water can help with smelly breath.

We were told about brushing their teeth at puppy class...you use a toothbrush and doggy toothpaste which is normally flavoured like chicken or something?
It seemed like a bit of a waste of time as the pups just ended up with toothpaste all over their faces! Laughing Bones would do the same and I am sure they would enjoy them a lot more and would be a lot better for them than the toothpaste Smile

Doggy breath could also be caused by an intestinal problem and not just from a bad/dirty tooth, best to let the vet have a look a to make sure there is nothing else going on there.
