Is this normal? Empty Is this normal?

Post by m4rkg Thu Feb 06 2014, 12:07

So wakened up this morning and spud had escaped his make shift pen in my bedroom, and poohed in the bathroom, while cleaning this up he done another two poohs on hall floor one had a bit of blood through it, I'm thinking it's something that he has eaten, as it happened the other day after he had destroyed a slipper and didn't eat much that day, but was fine for a couple of days then same again yesterday destroyed a flip flop at my mums n this morning we had bit of blood Sad
But after that he seemed fine and ate all his breakfast and went out in the garden as usual for a pee before I left, going home in next 30 mins to check and walk him, hopefully no more mishaps,
Ps I left him for 1hour 15 mins last night and came home to a strong smell of pooh and only a stain on floor where it was as he had eaten it ALL. Would this be a contributing fact to the problem?
Thanks Mark

Hiya Mark I don't know really perhaps its something He has eaten but if the blood in the poo keeps happening I would pop him along to the vets. When he poops inside what do you clean it up with?

All I had today was toilet roll and baby wipes, but the past few weeks he's been waiting til I got home, not very often he does pooh inside as he knows as soon as I get home he's straight out the garden.

Hey Mark, as he's still very young I would pop into the vets with him, it's probably nothing but better to get it checked out Smile

Ok well if he does happen to do it inside its best to clean it with a solution of biological powder/solution something to do with the chemical side of things it works and stops them soiling in the same spot.  Big Grin

^^^ the enzymes in the powder break down the molecules in the urine/poop that cause the odour Big Grin

The blood in the poo could be from where he is straining to poo because of the odd things he has been eating, would pop to the vet anyway to check there is no other explaination for it.

He probably ate the poo because he didn't want you to find it and punish him. Best to just clean the area with the biological detergent as already stated above and not to try to punish him for doing it.

Sorry to sound like i'm preaching but if he's escaping a pen he could be exposed to very dangerous things in the house - i'm sure you are aware of that. Have you considered a crate/cage? They are great for toilet training, dogs safety and 'their' private place.

All he really had access to was the bedroom the top landing and bathroom, and since he arrived I've not been able to leave anything on the floor or it's his in his eyes Laughing he's too scared too go down stairs anyway, also have a crate which is downstairs, but recently he's been doin well with toilet training without bein in the crate.

he's been ok rest of today poohs aren't quite solid but I've still been adding water to his food to soften it for him, Smile
