Poor Ron Dog Empty Poor Ron Dog

Post by winnie105 Tue Dec 10 2013, 08:46

Ronnie was out with daddy last night and was attacked by a younger staffie. Ron dog was minding his own business in the bushes one end of field - Mr Man came on other end of field let his staff off and it made a beeline straight for Ronnie. Daddy didnt think he was going to attack him with him being smaller and younger and thought it was going to be play and sniffs -but oh no straight onto Ronnie.

He is fine and Daddy said he didnt retaliate and submitted but he has a chunk of fur missing and a big scratch on his side and a tiny bite mark - nothing which I think needs a trip to the vet.

Ron's daddy said the owner of the other dog didnt apologise or even put him back on the lead and left it to Ron Dog's daddy to get the pup off. Very worrying how a pup can display this behaviour so young and half the size of Ronnie.

We have read how to break up a dog fight but any tips on how to get a dog off attacking a dog who isnt fighting back. Im so glad it wasnt me on my own.

As Ron wasnt fighting back it was only one dog to take care of so he just literally picked the dog off Ronnie. Daddy said he didnt know what else to do luckily he has height and strength behind him to do this and it was a young pup so he found it not easy but easier than if it had been a full grown dog and not both dogs fighting. The other guy just looked on after strolling over to where is dog was ripping hell out of Ronnie.

May have to be extra careful when walking at the same time in the same place just in case this dog is there again, please be extra careful.

Poor you its such a shock, when Moo got attacked I couldn't split them up and was just fortunate enough to have a cigarette in my hand and the only thing I could do was burn the other dogs nose and he let go Sad
