One of the lucky ones

Well, in the first month of rescuing Ozzie, he has won us over completely.   
How a dog this well balanced and loving ever ended up in a rescue centre is simply beyond me.

To top it all, he has no fear of fireworks what so ever. We took him to the park last night for his evening walk and just as I was about to let him off, someone began their own personal firework display about 100 yards away. Ozzie looked over, turned back to me and sat down to have his lead removed. He never flinched once.  

I do feel for everyone who's pooch suffers at this time of year, both of my previous dogs hated them.

Well done Ozzie, exemplary behaviour there with the fireworks. Rocky still barks at them sometimes.

He is really chilled for a staffy. His default position when he's not sure how to behave is to flop on his back and wait for a belly-rub.

Poppy has no fear of fireworks,went out the other night for her last wee,and suddenly off went about five fireworks,one after the other,she just sat squatting doing her wee... 

Inside we never take notice of fireworks,and nor does she...bless her. 

Its amazing isn't it?! I was Moo's fourth home and she has always been so settled and well balanced. Very very pleased for you I do believe that staffies are amazing

Sounds like Ozzie is a diamond, well done to you on the rescue. 

janey,we could not have wished for a more loving obedient little girl,I have had many rescue dogs,but Poppy has topped all of them with her love and devotion she has for us,especially for hubby,she adores him,he is putty in her paws...

Never ever thought we would home a rescue staffie,always had Yorkshire terriers...+ an Anatolian Shepherd,who sadly had stomach cancer,she was only four and a half when she passed on...her name was Clementine...such a beautiful girl,so sadly missed...
So pleased we found our Poppy though, (Staffie)she helped us through a very sad time when losing Clementine...

If I'm honest, adopting Ozzie was the selfish option for me. We considered another pup and both decided that we didn't have the time to commit to the training and household repairs / skirting renewal.
