As a rule of thumb any food u can buy in the supermarkets is pretty much rubbish, so much money is spent on advertising and none on quaility ingredients. Wainwrights is a good low cost food as is JWB or check out the link steve posted. All these foods you can get online and most in pet shops or PAH x

The list isnt in any particular order lol its just a few good ones. Yes it is a very good food and also expensive but u get what u pay for when it comes to dog food. I feed mine on James wellbeloved which although is not one of the absolute best is still by far better quaility than bakers pedagree iams etc... and it suits both my dogs and is very affordable. x

I agree with Carly, I've used JWB and my dog did well on it. Steer clear of Supermarket foods, especially Bakers
I use Barking Heads now and Sky's doing great on this
And remember vets will always reccommend the foods they sell.... they earn commission at the end of the day so why wouldn't they

I don't know whether it's good or not (I feed raw) but I was once told that they test the ingredients on animals (not in a nice way!) so I would never use it.

Re: feeding my new puppy .
thats true lol at the end of the day its up to u, many dogs do well on the cheap supermarket brands but nearly always notice the difference when they swap to a high quaility brand not only in general condition but in temperment as well. Its all the additives flavorings colours and rubbish stuff that makes it taste nice, so nearly all dogs will wolf down bakers and such like lol x

Yes.. I have as much faith in the pet food industries as in any multi million industries.. It is one (but not the major) reason why I feed raw. However, the more expensive foods (like Orijen) may not turn out to cost you more per day as they have less filler ingredients.
