Ready to rock!

6.30 tonight. It's mainly socialisation at this point then he'll move into the proper training sessions after a few weeks.

Well...
Bruno is a great big softie!
He was totally overwhelmed at the start and just sat there after saying hello to a few of the other dogs. He was only slightly interested in the yummy chicken we were using as treats and was looking a little confused by the whole situation.
During the recall exercise which was one by one he didn't move an inch because he was a bit worried. With lots of praise and a treat waved in front of his nose he took a few steps and everyone clapped and cheered for him.
By the end of the class he was coming more out of his shell and afterwards he played with a little pug puppy (called Barry - awesome name) and introduced himself to one of the trainers dogs so I think next week he'll have a lot more confidence.

He'll definitely enjoy it more next time as it won't be so overwhelming. I remember Bacchus's first class. We did the recall from the far end of the hall. I squatted down and called him. He raced to me ( we'd been practising prior to going to classes) but unexpectedly leapt straight into my arms which brought lots of aaaaahhhhs from the other handlers. Even now our instructor comments " gawd that dog loves you".
