Nasal discharge without other symptoms is actually something commonly seen in dogs. Sometimes it will just go away on its own; other times, other symptoms might pop up afterwards.

What colour is the discharge? Clear, runny discharge is almost always never serious on its own. Thick, yellow/green/bloody discharge can be associated with more serious conditions.

Is it coming out of one or both nostrils? If it's one, it's unlikely to be a virus. If it's both, it's probably a virus of the respiratory tract.

If it's just runny, with no colour and no other symptoms, it's probably safe to wait it out and just keep an eye on him to see how he does. Smile

Is he sneezing at all?  Ive been trying to find out if somthing is going around at the moment https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t42300-nasal-problem
Please keep us updated as im sure there is a bug doing the rounds. Mine were totaly fine in themselves  but sneezing like mad which turned into a guttural snort on day 4 just like if you had a cold and it was turning to thick mucas at the end. Both were fine by day 6 but I was so close to going to vets. If it gets worse or turns into a dry cough go to vets as it may be kc and antibiotics may be needed. Try youtube for the sound of kennel cough it quite distinctive

Poor Noah, definitely sounds like he's feeling under the weather cold? 3198918699

If it doesn't clear up in a few days definitely take him to the vets.

Yeah better safe than sorry so vets if it doesnt clear up in a few days. In the mean time you can use something called echinacea. It boosts the immune system and can be got from health shops or even at supermarkets in liquid or tablet form. Its safe for dogs but youll prob want to google it for a dosage. Try some yourself as well when you get ill it works a treat.

Its good stuff isnt it. If I get ill I take some and it works great. Have also given to rats when I kept them and it used to perk them up no end if they were under the weather.

Aw poor Noah, this does sound like what Rolo and a few others have had recently. A short course of antibiotics cleared Rolo's sneezes and runny nose right up, (he is due in kennels at the end of the week, hence the trip to the vets) Keep him warm and rested hopefully it will clear up quick for him, but obviously if he shows signs of getting worse, pop up the vets. Hugs for Noah cold? 3198918699
