Oh, Dempsey...

Little scenario just now:

I'm sitting on the sofa with my legs out, using my laptop. Dempsey, previously asleep under the computer desk chair, decides it's his turn on the sofa.

Him: Ahem. My sofa. Nudge nudge.
Me: Oh, do you want to get up? Okay, I'll move my legs.
Him: Err, nah, actually. I just wanted to nudge you, then look away.
Me: Fine, more room for me!
...
...
...
Him: ... Nudge nudge. I want to get up on the sofa.
Me: Hasn't noticed he actually wants to get up this time.
Him: Pointed look. Thumps into the sofa.
Me: Oh, alright, hold on a minute.
Him: Nope. No, I'm getting up now.
Me: About to get my laptop and legs out of the way.
Him: HELLOOOOO! I'M CLIMBING UP NOW!
Me: Eek! Get off!
Him: Nope, don't care! You were too slow! Is that your face my bum's pointed at? Oh well! Enjoy the smell! Oooops, my bad! Did my bum just close your laptop? That's a shame... Ooh, your leg's nice and comfy! I think I'll just thud my 5 stone body down on that and fall asleep. Now you can't move, see? So when I let rip a nice, ripe bottom burp, it's going to float directly into your face!
Me: Lost between the urge to laugh and cry.

Mum took a picture, but it's on her phone, so it might not be uploaded until tomorrow.

 Awww he just wanted a cuddle!

 He stayed like that for the next 30 minutes. Every time I tried to move my leg, his head would shoot up and give my foot a filthy look - the "I don't know what you think you're doing, but if you don't stop I'll bite you" look.

And then of course he had to go for his late night walk so I got a couple of treats & threw one on the floor.....

Heave, thump, drag heavy doggie body over human leg, dig hard rough paws into tender flesh & propel oneself over the human leg to the floor.

Hehehehe! 

 It hurt!

I know - he's done it to all of us at one time or another! 

 

Aww Dempsey, he just had to lie down Eleanor no matter what! How dead must your leg have been.

  Found him self a nice comfy spot there!

Apparently it's his sofa. If somebody has a problem with that, he'll sit on them.

 We all must remember to ask the dogs if we can please have a sit on the sofa.
