16 week old limpin :-(

Hi in need of some advice please..up until now my staff pup has been fine loves having a run round the woods in the mornins with my 3 year old staff!! Until last week every now n then he would start limpin and then stop! Hes fine around the house and otherwise very happy and playful, but when we go out for walks he just limps and then stops like nothins wrong...im quite concerned and dont know what to do..Please help :-(

How much (and what sort of) exercise is he getting?

I was takin them every mornin to the woods for a walk round where they would chase each other and fight over sticks for about half an hour as I have the older one its just easier to take the pup n him together he never seemed tired still full of it at end of the walk

You're probably overdoing it!

Normally, off lead play is fine as long as a pup can lie down & rest whenever he wants. But when they're with another dog they just don't stop!

I'd try and limit the off lead play for a while and see if it helps. If not, then he might need to have a check up with the vets.

Should I rest him for abit at all or keep walkin him but short walks?

I'd still walk him, but restrict the play a bit. Easier said than done, I know! Maybe put him on lead for a couple of minutes every so often.

Ok will give it a go..I did try leavin him home the first time but he stood at the back door n the puppy eyes worked there magic ;-) very hard when u have others to think about as dont really want the older 1 loosin out on his daily run :-( thank u for the advice tho will try it out

Let us know how it goes. If he's still limping after another couple of days I'd ask the vet to have a look!

Would just like to thank u for ur advice the other day...after 3 days of short lead walks we have a solved the problem :-) we had over done the walks so didnt need him checked at vets :-) thank u x
