Newbie to the forum :)

Hi im lauren and im from leicestershire and i am a very proud mummy to my blue staff called Xena who is 13 months old Smile

shes a very cheeky madam who likes to test her boundaries! Shes very clever and picked up on house trainin and general trainin very quick! I just have one issue i cant resolve with her, her recall is good off the lead when its just me and her but as soon as another dog appears she gone and i cant get her attention for love nor money! Its so embarrassing! She got attacked last year on a local park by a saluki whippet cross now im scared to let her off incase she runs to a nasty dog again :/ shes also very excitable round other people too and constantly jumps! I have tried lots of techniques but nothings worked.

Im new to forum so im not sure how it works Smile

Have you considered using a long training lead which keeps you in control while giving Xena some freedom to have a run around.

Have you tried using a long line. So she can have some freedom then if she tries to bolt off toward another dog you can just stand on the lead and get her to come back.
As for the jumping up the best way is to get everyone to turn their back and ignore her when she tries to jump for attention. As soon as she is calm get them to reward her calmly with a treat or quiet praise so she starts to learn it's calmness that gets her the attension
