Weight Calculator
what do you guys think about this calculator as a guide? give it a shot and see what your dog comes out at. it does show staffy's not putting on any weight after 1 yr and from what you guys tell me that isnt the case

Re: Weight Calculator
Darcy is 11 months and I'm looking forward to her filling out and changing shape over the next 12months, wether she'll gain or lose weight she'll continue growing until about 2/3.

Re: Weight Calculator
My 2 both weight 16.5 kg at 18 months and 12 months - the chart says they will stay at that weight which seems strange as I thought they got more muscley - but we shall see!

Re: Weight Calculator
I have never really worried about weight I have always gone on look and feel, but Moo is a cross so I can't really compare weight charts...

Re: Weight Calculator
We just tried this out and I'm not sure it's that reliable. When we last weighed Leon at the same time as one of his bros, he was 2KG less than the other pup. then, we weighed him this morning and he was only 0.6 lighter, so I think that's proof that puppies grow (like humans) at different speeds!!
Also, if we're trusting the chart, he's not going to be within the data range they have for Staffy's - which makes me a bit suspicious of how reliable their data is in the first place.
He's a certified pedigree chum
Edit: I'll continue to weigh him and we can check the progress

Re: Weight Calculator
Most medium to large breeds continue to grow (maybe not upwards, but definitely outwards) until they're about 2 or even 3 years old, so I wouldn't think that chart is reliable for all breeds, and definitely not bull breeds!

Re: Weight Calculator
I honestly don’t think it’ll work for us either. Opium is 6 months old and according to the calculator, she’ll be 14kgs. But she’s as tall as Nifty and even though she’ll be a lighter build, Nifty weighs just under 17.5 kgs ...

Re: Weight Calculator
Bo grew upwards until he was about 12 months and outwards until he was between 4 and 4.5 years. He's a pedigree, 16" tall, and at 18 months old was only 15.4Kg, although that was partly due to his colitis which wasn't sorted out until he was about three. Now he's coming up six and he's 23.5Kg with a 21" neck, no fat on him, he's like a little bull.
