Star broxi's first walk

Post by _Jason_ Fri Jun 28 2013, 08:50

Well i have had him for a good while now i got him at around 5 weeks old and hes about 12 the now, after he had his injections he never liked the lead or collar,so rather than stick it out and let him deal with it i went my normal self and was soft with him,so i let him out the grass area behind my house and let him run about rather than walk him,but last night i needed to go to the shop and i thought lets try him with harness and lead and take him a walk

Well we did Smile, he moaned abit from time to time but he kept walking, think he was wondering why there was a lead attached to him but overall im happy with this sudden progress.

Hopefully because i went soft on him that i havnt left it to late to get him use to it,all i want is whenever i say walkies and he see's his lead i want him to be excited like most dogs do.

Great news that your walk went well Big Grin

Chiquito enjoys going for walks, though it is only very recently (and still not all the time) that he actually gets excited when I say 'let's go walk' ... and there are still times we get all ready and walk outside only to have him stop dead and refuse to move past the letter box Rolling Eyes

Lola hated it at first. I used to get home from work early doors and take her out. Never got further than the end of the avenue. Then the first time my daughter came out with us, there was no stopping her. It seemed to give her more confidence knowing her little mate was with her.

Very true, it will definitely take time, and persistence, they eventually get used to it. Rocky doesn't want to go home after a walk now! Wants to stay out longer haha. But great to hear of the good progress Smile Keep it up!
