Newbie!

Hey guys,

My name is Abs and i have a 2yr4mnth old Staffy called Lenny-Pig (who is currently asleep on my foot!).
My boyfriend and i rescued him about a month ago from a home where he was unwanted.
He is obviously a handful and a challenge but one i am more than happy to take on.
He is our first staffy. I joined this forum to read about all other experiences to see if you can help us with his training. We've so far learned to sit instead of jump up when greeting people.
We have problems with him pulling while out on the lead but we're trying a halti tomorrow :-) He is considerably better after a run but we dont run every single day. Our other biggest problem is that he has not been socialised with other dogs so just lunges at them.

They can be a tad irritable with other dogs, any breed/sex, + training/socialisation is often helpful. But don't expect a lap dog who gets on famously with every other woofer s/he comes across, as if you do expect this you've chosen the wrong breed.

Having said that, what you have is the most loving,faithful,loyal,snuggly,cuddly,dieforyou bestest mate in the entire world, you'll get all the advice you need on here, so enjoy your bubba but be mindful of the SBT traits, do some reading about their origins + you'll have a soulmate for life xxx

Thanks guys! He's doing really well and OH MY GOD a halti is my new best friend!! Lenny is alot more responsive and has stopped pulling so badly. He has started running with us now as we can control him so much better.
