New Here & Just Rescuing Boris

Hello All, Lovely to meet you (:

I'm currently going through the process of rescuing a very handsome Staffy Cross (they don't know what he is crossed with) - He is already named Boris and I instantly fell in love. I've never normally liked Staffies before due to the bad press and the people I personally know who have them (ie. the man across the street from my parents' who is a drug dealer and his Staffy attacks other dogs) but how could I resist his smile?!

So obviously I have no experience with the breed. He is currently crate trained & I went to visit him today and he was soooooo cuddly and playful, he even played fetch and sat beautifully for the ball. I've been told he can be a bit toooo playful with other dogs therefore annoying them and resulting in fights, so I'm going to get him to wear a yellow bandana - www.yellowdoguk.co.uk

I'd love all the advice I can get and what you feed yours, what toys you give etc x

We're just awaiting our home visit date (protocol) but they said everything seems in check so could be within the next 2 weeks - I'm visiting him whenever I can. We found him on Thursday, went to see him today and going back on Tuesday (that's when they're next open) xx

Thank you so much - No i truly can't... I moved out of my mum's in November last year with my partner of 5 years! I had to leave my spaniel (Logan) at my mums for 2 reasons. 1. the landlord wouldn't allow pets 2. my mum has his dad (Harvey) and I just couldn't seperate them. My partner had a Newfoundland called Morgan at his parents' but again because Landlords wouldn't let us and now it's mean to seperate her from the people she's lived with. So to finally be able to have a dog again and to have rescued him and saved his life and given him a new start instead of spending the money on a new puppy, we're over the moon xx

Boris is very handsome, I bet you can't wait to get him home. Well done for going for a rescue, Rocky is also from a rescue centre and I was the same as you to begin with : went along with the bad press, how wrong can you be.

Me too, well, just outside, near Walford Cross Where are you rescuing him from? I got Milton from the NAWT near Langport, I volunteer up there.

We're quite lucky, there's loads of really nice walks around Taunton

Staffies are seriously the best breed in the world They are so loving and so people oriented! Before we got Gwen we tried to rescue, but here in the United States you have to have a fenced in yard to be approved (which I think is ridiculous!!) Im sure you can't wait to get Borris home with you! I hope he gets to go home with you soon! He is absolutely gorgeous, by the way! Congrats!

I mean a yard that is completely fenced in! Here in the US not all yards are fenced in! I live in an apartment and it is not fenced! Quite different here! Rescuing is an amazing thing! We hope to rescue someday!
