I find it hard to believe that his heart was visible given the placement of the wound (and that he was in condition to be sitting up and photographed the next day?).

That's a huge dog. American staffs are pretty damn big in comparison to our staffies then.

That was a very shocking article to read, well done to those who stopped to help the man.

They are not pure amstaff they look too big. I also didn't appreciate seeing the dog handler whacking the dog on the head with the pole!!!!

Unfortunately if they are that agro they will be put down, and rightly so, but i hope the owner is brought to justice!

I removed a post about this from the facebook page earlier today .. can't remember the page source now, but it stated that the dogs were first thought to be pit bulls, then staffordshire terriers but that 'the companion animal service later said that they were registered as american bulldogs' (which makes more sense than an Am Staff given how big the dog looks).

They have changerd it now, staffs are not mentioned anywhere. And those dogs in the video look like american bulldogs x
