Hi all! First time Staffy X owner!

Hi everyone!

About a month ago I became the proud mama of Charlie, a 9.5 month old Staffy X Jack Russell boy. I've owned terriers, spaniels and lurchers with my family over the years, but Charlie is my first "my" dog.

Charlie (also known as Charlie-Bear, Chunk and other names when he does one of his legendary farts) is a rescue boy, he was found with his littermate (who is being fostered in Bristol if you like the look of my Charlie!) in a plastic bag by a river when he was a few weeks old. The nice couple who found them unfortunately were unable to keep them, so he was picked up by a rescue and has spent most of his very young life in different foster homes. Now I'm his forever home!

He is lovely, loves all dogs, all people, all kids. He'd very much like to play with my two cats but they're not keen as yet, despite his Staffy grunts and yips! My Siamese has started going "chase me! chase me!" though, which Charlie thinks is brilliant and then they tear around the house. The big MaineCoon prefers to just slap him around the head, but is quite interested in Charlie's meaty bones.

I love taking Charlie on his daily walks, he's not the prettiest of dogs (as you can see from the photos, he has the Jack Russell tiny Queen-Anne legs and pointed nose), but he totally charms everyone and most people fall in love with him. Most dogs do too! My nieces are coming to visit me next week, and they're so looking forward to playing with him.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for the very warm welcome! I'm going to go and see everyone else's pups now!

Charlie does indeed have a lot of character, and I'm learning more of it day by day. One that particularly makes me laugh is that he has a very expressive lower lip. When he wants to beg for something his ears go down, his eyes go big and his lower lips sticks out like a pouting kid!

Rupertsbooks, I got him from Dogfriends rescue in the South-West. I had been living without a dog for several years, my cats kept me occupied, but while watching Crufts this year I realised that I NEEDED a dog again! Whatever dog I had needed to be good with cats, other dogs (my parents have an elderly terrier), kids and be fairly small. Dogfriends was one of the first websites I looked at, and I saw Charlie on there. He really fit the bill but I wasn't quite ready to adopt yet and he was reserved by someone else. I kept an eye on the website and a month later I was ready to adopt someone. I looked and Charlie was available again, the people had changed their mind! I rang them and reserved him immediately, visited him at his foster home, had a home check and a couple of days later he became mine!

Hi and welcome to the forum from me and Gwen! I am so happy Charlie has found his forever home with you! He is so cute and I can see how he could charm everyone! My Gwen does the same thing and can't decide between multiple things that she wants to pick up and carry around! Sometimes she will have as many as 3 things in her mouth at once! He looks like a character and his personality shows through the pictures!

Hello to everyone who posted since my last time!

I took him to my parents house to play with their 10 year old Jack Russell. She's a bit of a princess and decided to ignore him totally - so he played with every single one of her toys and sat in her bed!

Aww poor Charlie! At least he got to play with all of her toys!
