Feeding

Hi ya
I have a 8 month old staffie called sammie I just need some help how many times a day should I be feeding him now he went from 4 to 3 then to 2 when should he be on one meal a day many thanks

i think it depends on the dog. I was feeding Blue 2 meals a day until he was about 2 I think. I only changed to 1 as I started to find he was leaving food

Dogs really should be fed twice a day.

I don't think every dog should be fed twice a day. In fact feeding is more ingrained of being a night thing after a days work.
How is the dog doing at the moment? Are you finding Sammie leaving food or toying with it for ages? Or is he scoffing it down?

I think two is fine, all our dogs were kept on two meals a day. I don't think it matters if you feed one or two meals, as long as he's eating the correct amount.

Darcys fed twice a day 8:30am & 6:30pm she's happy with this clears her bowl 9/10 times :-)

I prefer to give 2 smaller meals a day rather than 1 big meal.

But do what suits you and your dog. X

I's always recommend two meals a day for life unless your dog really doesn't want it & prefers one. Feeding one large meal can lead to bloat.
