Ive just re homed crystal, whos 18 mths old and what a character, im sure she is human she loves my little jack russell izzie. what i would like to know if it is possible to change crystals name or is it that now she is used to it i should keep her as she is,,

It is possible to change a dogs name.Our rescue labrador was called duke in kennels.We renamed him lexx.If you keep repeating the name,she will soon respond to it

thanks lisa, all i have to do now is think of a name that will suit her personality

No problem i would give her lots of fuss and cuddles when she responds to her new name,but avoid treats if you can,otherwise she will think everytime shes called she will get food

Caryll she is totally gorgeous so many people have just stopped me when i walk them and said how beautiful she is, makes me proud as i feel staffs do not get the credit they deserve.....

Hiya and welcome i love her little face!! Sometimes it can be usefull to rename dogs with a similar name like ummmmmm i cant even think now lol like........Milly/Tilly/Lily or Ty/Kai/Jai but it doesnt really matter and i cant think of any names that sound like crystal anyways lol x

lol blaze i been tryin to do the same thing but crystal does not seem to rhyme with anything, ive gone through the alphabet

lol nicola it does sound like it but not sure of the name itself,, so far we got bistral and mistral it certainly is a hard name,,
the person who had her had spilt up with his wife, so he cud not keep her as he worked all day and she was just left alone until he came back, then she was just let out in the garden to do her thing and back in the cage when it came to bed time,, now she has 2, 3 walks a day for an hour each, the cage is shut and in my cellar and she sleeps with me n my jack in my room, they are both very spoilt but id wud not be without either of them

Lol, mine was originally called Missy, but that wasn't my taste so I changed it to Moo, she took to it straight away so you won't have any problems changing it I'm sure!

yes i wasnt keen either but couldnt think of anything else to rhyme! i think you'll be ok changing it, woody gets called allsorts and still responds.............think he likes "his lordship" the best!!

ohh janey my friend keeps calling crystal missy and she seems to respond but its sounds to much like izzie, as thats my jacks name and she gets a lil confused lol,, i thought suga as i looked at a suga at battersea an she was adorable, but the same time i like Angel as she is a little angel lol x

its realy hard to find staffys with white on them over here,they charge like 100 dollars extra for white thats from a breeder

awww thank u im lucky to have her as she a rescue dog, i have seen a pure white one in the rescue centre she was totally stunning but i could not have her as she was not good with over dogs, i just hope all the staffs get the loving homes they deserve as so many are now in rescue, breaks my heart
