Poor, Lonely Loki Empty Poor, Lonely Loki

Took Loki out earlier since the snow's more or less gone and we saw his best friend, Buster. Every time Buster sees us, he does this little wiggly-bum thing and then runs over to us, and him and Loki's tails get set to 'extreme wagging,' they dance around a bit, Buster slobbers all over Loki, they lick each other Love Struck and etc. But I've noticed they don't play anymore. When Loki was tiny he'd jump all over Buster and they'd play fight, chase each other, go wild, they'd love it. But now it's just an excited "OMG hi, I missed you!" and then they leave each other alone more or less. I think it's Buster's doing, Buster loves playing with tiny dogs, but he's not as playful with bigger ones, and I suppose Loki's learnt to follow it since Buster taught him a lot when he was younger. It's a good thing he knows when to calm down, but I'll miss their playfulness together Sad need to find Loki a friend that wants to run around and play. I really need another dog Laughing

Maybe this is a sign that Loki is starting to really come into the adult stage though too Big Grin

But yea I know what you mean, I could do with meeting a dog that Logan can get a good play with. He's lost that way.

No, Mat, no, he's wild Laughing. Nah, he's definitely calmed down a lot, but I know he'd still have a good play with Buster if he could, just that he's learnt manners more now. Shame though, everyone we meet is either too busy or aren't the kind of people that understand the difference between play-fighting and real-fighting.

Moo will half play with dogs but she has 1 best mate, he is a collie-cross and they love to play rough but he is so much bigger it contrasts her strongness Smile

Yea I know what ya mean, they are quite rough players too which doesn't help I guess. The problem over here is literally 70-80% of dogs I meet are really aggressive towards Logan and the bulk of the rest don't want him to socialise. Very difficult.

Poor, lonely Loki - if only our dogs weren't 100s of miles apart! They'd have such fun together.

Kuchar is 15 months old now and his best friend is Preston, a Patterdale, and Kuchar has done so much to help Preston become a friendlier dog, which I am very proud of. But Preston is 7 years old and playing isn't always top of his agenda; plus he knows that Kuchar's mummy has bits of baked liver in her pocket and prefers to beg in front of her rather than romp with Kuchar.

How old is Buster?

Buster's four years old, but still extremely playful, he just prefers little dogs to play with, but he's like a dog teacher, he knows everyone in the area and is friends with everyone, very well-behaved and always teaching the young ones how to behave Smile

Ah OK. Well, Buster's not too far gone in old age to enjoy playing then! It's nice that he and Loki can be quiet and enjoy each others' company though.

I do know what you mean about having a playmate for Loki though, another dog who will match him for size (size does matter for dogs it seems!) and sheer exuberance and joie de vivre. I wish I could find the same for Kuchar - but these dogs are hard to find these days, seemingly.

Good luck in finding a playmate for him Tara smile
