Michael Owen retires

Hey it matters to me!! I spent many a childhood summer running around the back garden with a football pretending to be Michael Owen winning the world cup final at Wembley!!though I agree in terms of recent form he wont be missed!! I guess at 23 years old its time I stopped that anyway

I remember watching little Michael Owen in the 1998(I think) world cup and doing quite well. I seem to remember he injured his knee badly a few years ago and I dont think he was ever the same after that.

owen was about when i was growing up we have some scouse family friends and the two lads who were my age loveeeeeeeed him!

im femake so mine was always about the looks............but not my cuppa tea now haha

His goal against Argentina was a thing of beauty.

Despite playing for Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid, I don't think he had as good a career as most people would have expected back in 98. Injuries wrecked it for him.

Comes across as a decent guy so all the best to him.

18 i think lol, i read in his book that he has a passion for horseracing, so hes got the fall back. either that or becoming a pundit for the bbc/itv/skysports. the worlds his oyster really.

I think there are gonna be allot of benches that just aren't going to be the same anymore >
