Is this a game or a stand off.

When we go to the park, sukie is always off the lead chasing the ball.when it's time to go we always go home the same way past the flower beds in the park this is where the last throw of the ball takes place,now it's time to put her harness and lead back on,sukie knows this and goes and lays flat out on her stomach in the middle of the flower bed,when I call her she just looks at me,so I wave goodbye and within 20 seconds there she is by my side.i put her harness back on she goes back and fetches her ball and I put her lead back on.then we have a stand off with the ball which I always win and off we trott home.game or not?

Sounds like she wants to walk or play more and doesn't want to go home yet. Suki does similar things as well

Logan started doing this again lately. I have started him on a long flexi lead and since it's been so dry here lately we've been able to get away onto fields and fun areas for him to explore. Once he knows we are heading home he just stops like a dead weight lol.

you're luck you can get her to come back once there is a ball in the road , for Tommy and Tilly they dance around me for ages like a big game

Ahh ebony loves going back on her lead as much as she loves going off it! I'm quite lucky really but she'll do anything if I get her excited enough and that place looks VERY familiar Tony! We both live in the midlands too! Probably crossed paths a few times
