14 week old itchy c

hi im wondering if any one can help my 14 week old baby buster is itchy a lot he also has a sore under his armpit but hasnt caught this on anything my other staffe keeps licking it im not sure if hes making it worse or not the doggy shampoo i use has been fine so i no it cant be this causing the problem he did seem to scratch a lot wen i first got him at 8 weeks old he hasnt got any sores any wer else but my older dog gets a lot of sores and they heal and dissapear he has 1 on his head and gets a lot in between his toes but onli on his right paw Sad

i dont no what can be causing this i have had my staffe for 5 years and have tryed various shampoos and things for him but now the other 1 aswell HELP Laughing

What do you feed them? Could be a food allergy, Zeus had the same with various foods.

i feed them dryed biscuits from the vets nt sure what its called but they wer eating something different which i then changed thinking it was the food but still happening he must be so uncomfortable itching all the time

It would help if you can get the name of the food, I can then look at the ingredients and tell you what could possibly be causing it. It may have too much grain in it (wheat/maize/corn) which are known allergens and be causing the itching.

ok im going to ring the vets monday morning and take him down ther see what they say but will also find out the name thank u

Very often itching is down to an intolerance of certain ingredients in food - most often it's wheat.

If you give us the name of the food your dog is getting we might be able to help.

i will find out today i only dont no the name as i have thrown the bag away wen emptied in the tub i use i have an appointment at 3.30 today so shud no by then x

hi buster has a skin problem the vets said he has gave him cream /gel and gave him an injection to calm his itchyness down which has already stopped the sore under his pit he sed its because staffes are prone to skin problems so gel it is its not his food checked with the vet but thanks for all ure help Big Grin
