my dog olly is 11 weeks old & we were thinking about getting another staffy, one alot older than him, so he can have a friend to play with & hopefully wont pick up an bad habits & will only learn good habits lol

what are peoples thoughts on getting an older staffy for my 11week old pupto have a friend

Personally, I'd wait until he has fully settled in. I want to get another dog at some point. But one thing to bare in mind is at 11 weeks they are very cute and even their bad behaviours are fairly easy to handle.

But in a few months he is gonna start getting bigger and more boisterous. Logan certaintly did. I'm gonna wait for a while yet until I get to that stage.

I agree with Mat , I am about to get a pup after losing our old boy. I would consider getting 2 this time because things are easier at home now the kids are older. I know I will be tempted to get a second straight away but we have decided after speaking to a few people in the breed, to give It 18mths to get on top of training with number 1:)

I'd wait as well. A pup can be a handfull and adding a second dog would potentially make things harder.

I agree with the others above, wait until Olly is properly settled in and a little older before introducing another dog to the family.

If you get an older dog, the older dog will be settling in, and the younger puppy will eventually become a teenager. I think it's best to wait until you have a good handle on the puppy. I mean, at 11 weeks old, he might be the best-behaved puppy you've seen...but they have a lot of growing up to do, and a lot of bad behaviour to get out of their system first Laughing
