hi all , just got back into puppyhood after owning 2 staffies for 15yrs + , so have picked up my pup , now 11 weeks old have had him at home for 3 weeks , but we have came across a family members illness which is terminal cancer , and so time is being directed to the family member ,

my main issue is with time me and the family spend with our pup , he currently has the full use of the utility room which is his haven, with his radio + crate ,food an water , and when being supervised , the run of the house

currently hes getting social activity from 6.30 am to 9.00 am , the goes out to the utility room with his toys and comforts , till midday , then hes back being socialised till 2.00pm , then back out till 5pm , then he spends the rest of the eveing with us in the living room , till bed time

sometimes i feel as if hes not being given time , but most people say its more than plenty ?

what do yous think.

i appreciate your time

Hi and welcome from us and Suki. It sounds like he is getting plenty of time to me. They crave human attention and company but getting him used to being alone now should help avoid seperation anxiety issues in the future.

I too believe like he is getting plenty of time. Bare in mind as you most likely know as a previous Stafford owner, spending quality time even sitting about the house with the dog means a lot.

For the situation you have found yourself in with family I think you are handling it well. It should become easier over time.

Keep us updated Smile

I think, given the circumstances, that you are doing everything you possibly can. As long as your pup is getting some quality time with you & isn't being left for very long periods, then there shouldn't be any problem at all.

Agree with what everyone else has said, even in such a difficult situation you're still making sure he's not being left alone all day, so I think it's fine.

Sounds good to me - I'm assuming u will be walking him in a cpl of weeks ? So this will tire him out a bit more and make his day interesting.
