Logan Got Himself A New Toy

I just had a totally fantastic walk, the sun is splitting the trees here for a change and everyone is out and about in great form! I got a heavy duty Flexi lead over the weekend and it's a God send. Logan was even playing football with a group of kids at the park. A couple of kids were kicking around this float thing that you attach to a boat which Logan took an extra special shine to it and the wee lads gave it to him.

It's far from indestructible but it has lasted him this far so I guess it's better than most "tuff toys" you can buy in the shops.

He has got a lot better exercise from using these long/flexi leads and his build is improving from it. Anyone who has never used them def should try it. It is really helping me

i suddenly find myself having a crush on logan

Question: What do you do when Logan is running and you're holding onto the end of the lead? I'm hesitant to go back to the long line because I remember flying head-first onto the cold, hard, icy grass

Also, Logan is absolutely stunning and love his eyes, they're so expressive. You should take more pics of him!

Logan isn't a terribly bad puller, he knows when I say "slow" to basically stop. Because he was walked off lead as a pup constantly I taught him "slow" for when we came into areas which might have cars etc. (maybe not to best word to teach but it's the first thing that comes to my mind haha).

So when he tears off running if I say "slow" he'll basically grind to a hault. I'm not gonna lie and say this always works though Tara haha, I've fallen before and slipped and had sore arms many times

I'm building my confidence up with the long lead too atm so I know exactly how you are feeling, for a month or two Logan was walked on a super short chain and it didn't do him any good at all. It's hard to get back into the swing of things.

Haha thanks Janey. To be honest he was starting to get a bit tubby before I got the long lead etc. I know I moan on about them all the time on here but such a little thing has made such a difference to him.

What a stunner you have Matt. Logan looks to love his new toy.

He is looking great Mat looks like the new toy has bought him out of himself.

I take it these children are not the same ones that have been giving you grief lately, shame that lot couldn't see Logan playing in the park they would then think differently about throwing missiles at him I'm sure.

Unfortunately not...these kids were great, Logan plays rough but they loved it. One wee lad was a proper tough cookie and was able to wrestle with him a bit too.

It was great to see and very refreshing after lately.

what a beauty he is. i almost bought a 25foot retractable lead today, but i didnt. have a fear that the lead wont stop or something along those lines. she is 18 weeks but quite strong. im desperately trying to break her pulling.

You can buy them for whatever weight. Just get one that will handle much more weight than needed. Mine is the "flexi" brand, girlfriends is too. Hers is lighter than mine because Logan is a bit of a bull at times.

I'd really suggest you try one. They are a god send. Gives the dog more freedom too.

ill sleep on it i guess. i mite have to get one as NONE of the lame petshops in the entire island have 25ft training leads in stock, this is the next best thing. they have one rated for 150lbs thats 25 feet long.

That will def do you for her whole life, you will never need stronger. She will totally love it too. Logan has been asleep from 6pm. He has been so much happier lately.

Ahh Logan is gorgeous Mat! He's got such an adorable face looks like a great toy too! The best toy I've ever bought is like a giant weighted egg shaped ball? I'm not sure what to call it but it lasted longer than most things and eb really enjoyed it! Looks like something Logan would like

I saw a video on here of one of those egg toys. They are like a boomer ball, they look great.
