Accident in the house. I've met my OH with Debo and my employer's dog at the seaside so the dogs could have a play. Debo drunk lots of sea water. One minute after my OH with Debo left , I got text from my OH, that Debo had runny poo. Called him later to check how Debo was. He said that he drunk around 0,5 l water when they got back home and now he looks like he swallowed ball. That was 1,5h ago, just got call from my OH that Debo had two massive accidents in the house. Well, in Debo's defence, from what my OH saying, he did beg to be let outside. At least he knew he did wrong. Still love him, but there better be no wee when I come home

After drinking saline water, that's to be expected. Tongues Dogs, like humans, only need a tiny amount of salt in their bodies. When too much salt is taken in, the cells all release water to try to dilute and flush out the excess salt. The release of water is going to make your dog pee - a lot. But the loss of water from cells will also make him dehydrated, so he'll start drinking loads of water when he gets home. Hello, puddles of wee all over the house!

Saline water also affects intestines, as salt has a large impact on osmosis. I daresay that's why he has the runs. Tongues

I do expect more wee when I come back, that's why I've told my OH to remove Debo's bedding out of the cage. Soon will find out.

Bailey goes to our beach every day. When we first got him he kept drinking the sea water from the rock pools, until he had projectile diarrhea. I thought at first he was peeing, but noooooo, I kept laughing (bad mum, I know) because his face was saying it all "wtf is going on" Anyway, he has out grown the drinking sea water, or maybe, being the clever thing has put 2 and 2 together?

I think it depends on how much salt water he drank. He'll be back to normal when the salt levels go back down. The best thing to do is make sure he has a bowl of fresh, clean water available at all times. His body will sort itself out soon enough. Smile
