DONNY - Male SBT

Donny was posted here a couple of weeks ago as a poundie needing a rescue space. Sadly no rescue has been able to help him so far, and he is not happy in kennels.

Time is running out for Donny, as I have just been told he cannot stay any longer. He loves people so much and has already been let down.

Please can anyone help as this is urgent.

We have approached so many rescues regarding Donny and they just turn us away. He has been neutered, chipped and assessed. We can even arrange transport. The poor chap has recently had a day out (away from the concrete kennel he has spent the last few months in) and he was a happy, friendly little chap. He hates being in kennels. He only has days left, and will spend them in the kennels he hates so much

It could be our Donny. He only has until Friday, and he is such a sweet little dog. It's horrible. The warden is in pieces over it as Donny is one of two - Petula has until Friday too

I have contacted two more rescues recently and one didn't take dogs from outside the local area and the other was full. The situation nationally is desperate.

Yeah they were both on Adopt a Staffie website. Have you tried Sarah at Ravens Rescue? How old are they?

Chiara, Donny is about 2 and Petula is maybe 3. We don't know for sure.

Donny has been taken in by a rescue. He is going to a place called Hectors Gate. Thank goodness!

At least Donny is safe from the dreaded vet. He will be away from kennels too, in a more homely environment, which is vital for his sanity, as poor Donny was getting very stressed in kennels. I know when we walked Maddie her behaviour was deteriorating in kennels and she was getting so aggressive towards other dogs. The first weekend she was home with us Maddie was hyper and quite mad. Now she is really calm and settled in private (considerably less so in public...) but just getting her out of the kennel environment made a huge difference to her well-being. I'm sure Donny will be the same.

So glad to hear about Donny, he has been playing on my mind. I have heard of Hectors Gate, from what I've heard they are very caring.

Thanks for the suggestion Drucil - our pound is already in touch with Bully Befrienders, and they have taken several of our dogs in the past. I don't know why they couldn't help with Donny, they are probably absolutely full (so many unwanted staffies... )

They seem to be taking in loads recently, thats were will will look for our next dog both ours are rescues and I sooo wanted a puppy but have decided there are too many that need a home already without buying from a breeder. Hope he and all the others find their forever homes.xx
