my staffies are my babies. they are mother - Xena & daughter - Paige. we decided to mate our staff, first time ever I'd done anything like that. well she had 10 puppies!! . . we lost one but the others all thrived. Paige is the puppy we kept.

Now a question . . my two are 10yrs & above but still chew and demolish stuff . . do they ever stop!!

They should have def calmed down with that behaviour but some dogs are just destructive. Can I ask, how much exercise are they getting? Some dogs will destroy and generally behave badly as a way of letting out excess energy. Also, what are they fed?

they are walked only once a day . . but we do have a large garden. and i feed them dried food with a little bit of tinned in there too . .

Paige, the younger one grabs anything to hand if someone comes to the door and if u dont get it from her straight away, its demolished, dont matter what it is . . shoes, newspapers, lighters & fags . . anything. The other one will just sneak off with something and when u find her shes chewed wotever it is into small pieces, luckily she dont eat it, but the other one will come along and eat it if ur not quick!!

The destructive behavior shouldn't be tolerated at all especially at that age but its hard to enforce it now.

Sounds like you have your hands full at times! How do they respond to being corrected, as in saying NO in a firm voice? Logan is a wee terror at times but for the most part he will listen if he's told that something isn't his to play with.

Have you ever tried the likes of an extreme Kong, or Stagbar? They are used by a lot of members on here and seem to be a good way of keep their busy jaws happy haha

lol . . yes Matt I have tried various toys but they always seem to chew them up !! even the 'indestructable' ones!!

I do have my hands full, but I wouldnt have it any other way

Paige isnt to bad as she'll drop or let go, its Xena who locks her jaws good and proppa!!

Once a day probably isn't really enough, although at their age it'll be hard to set a new routine.

May I ask which brand dry & tinned food you give them?

What I'd do in your case about chewing things is when you find them say ''No'', once they stop say good girl and give them a treat or a toy for them to play with instead. The younger one should learn quite quick although the other is 10 so it'll be hard to ''un-teach'' something that she's been doing for 10 years but nothing is impossible if you keep doing it, they'll probably end up stopping.

Also like others said maybe give them a bit of a bigger walk? I only take my boy out once but when I do is for 2 hours or over at the park where we play fetch for most of the time, so he's always running, when he gets home he just goes to sleep
