Post by Guest Thu Jan 17 2013, 21:35

I thought won't hurt just to have a look Laughing
and yep I picked the only day of the week they are shut. I took the mrs but filled the van with tools first so the mrs didn't fill the van with dogs Laughing
Went to another rescue place where the dog warden hands them in. You can reserve them and if in 2 weeks no one claims them, they are yours. But only had 4 dogs and all males

Probably Big Grin
I have always looked on various websites etc. Problem I have is I also have 4 cats and most rescue centres say this dog and that dog can't be rehommed with cats. I have always had cats and dogs and trust me I'm yet to meet a dog who hasn't been put in his place in the first 30 mins by the cat.
I want female 7 years old + who's dog friendly.

If I see one that catches my eye and connects with Blue then yeah, but not rushing out to get another just for the sake of it. Would like to get an older dog to help Blue socialise also and I think the older staffs often get overlooked and they need plenty of cuddles too

It is upsetting. Thing is even the ones who seem bad act differently if they are in a stable and loving home. They give you the sad eyes and you end up wanting to rescue them all.

Cats know how to put a dog in its place! My big bermese wasn't one bit afraid of lexi and lexi never touched it. Shes a bit more outgoing with smaller normal moggies though, so i wouldn't trust her with them lol

Went to local RSPCA today. No female dogs that are good with dogs, cats and older children.
But while we was asking this dog walked in

http://www.rspca.org.uk/allaboutanimals/rehoming/petsearch/details/-/Pet/PEGGY/ref/BSA2003354/rehome/

and tried humping my leg and jumping up to lick my face Laughing shame she really hates cats as she was gorgeous. pics do her no justice.

Just phoed up about this one from Halifax RSPCA. Good with dogs, cats and kids

Well after plenty of research and looking constantly for the right dog. Today we brought home the gorgeous Snowy.
Seems a bit cold at the moment but were hoping she will warm to us. One of the main things that made us decide she was the one was the fact she didn't have a * face Wink

Took Blue for a walk. Opened the door and he crappped himself Laughing I said to the mrs I didn't think it was that good but the Blue went over and tried sniffing it's bum, then licked snowys left ear off her head. Mrs said don't flatter yourself Mike it's not, it's just the dog is thick Laughing
Here is a pic of the happy couple. Look how Blue still isn't sure and is leaning away from Snowy
