Post by gemma<3 x Sat Jan 05 2013, 16:55

My 11month old staffy has recently started to try and mount my leg i can't get him to stop even though he is usually extremely good at doing as he is told. Can someone give me a bit of advice on how to get him to stop xxx

A sharp NO or DOWN and turn away. I would not reward if he gets off cause that will get him excited again, but if you see him about to mount your leg, say LEAVE and if he leaves then reward.

A lot of dogs go through a phase of 'leg intimacy'. Wink As Hayley and Mark said, a firm 'no' and persistent training should correct it.
