Chart for Roasting Times for Meats

I find this chart very useful for roasting times & temperatures of different meats. Just scroll down a little for the chart

For anyone having duck on Christmas day, as we are, to roast a whole 2 kg duck preheat oven to 190 0c or Gas 5 and cook for 2 - 2.5 hours:

isnt it 20 mins per pound and 20 mins added at the end ?

given rule to be on safe side is 20mins per pound plus 20mins plus 2 mins extra per pound so 10lbs turkey is 10x20+20+20=240mins or 4hours on 190deg or gas mark 5
sorry for the maths lesson lol

plus this time table is safe to use on any meats

tell me about it a few years ago it was like a £1 a lbs now its like £4 a lbs

was in the supermarket last week and they had a nice turkey crown all fancy with bacon and christmas spices and i almost dropped when i seen the price £52 £12 a kg

I got a 2kg whole duck for less than £5 in Tesco a couple of months ago and just popped it in the freezer. All ready for the big day.

you can get turkey from morrisons for £9 a chick are now £7.50

Yeah too right, you have to snap up these bargains as soon as you see them

We spend a lot of money on turkey, we usually try to get close to 30lbers. But we know the farmer and they're very well looked after unlike the "cheap" turkeys you get in the markets. So that justifies the price to me

it lasts for like a week tho, so its all good. turkey soup. turkey sandwiches, turkey dinner, turkey curry, turkey fajitas....

I hate turkey though and the smell of it makes me sick, always have haha
