When it's Raining or if your snowed in

What do others think , would you use a treadmill ?

yes in moderation and not leaving them on it to run for hours, but only if i literally couldn't get them out for a walk!

i dont think i would somehow it looks cruel in a way. I would however play with the dog and tire her out in other ways

i would use it if i had a dog needing physio kinda thing but not as a substitute for real walks.

But that first video, those dogs are AMAZING! Perfect examples of how a staff should look to me. Second ones a bit overweight, needs more treadmill! lol

I understand some people who show Staffy's use them to keep them looking good , i don't think it's cruel but if some one used one all the time instead of walks then it's unfair .

I don't think they are cruel IF used properly!

OK but what if a single person who owns a Staffy had had an accident and couldn't get the dog out , would they not be a good thing at that time .

That wasn't your original question though was it, you asked if I would use a treadmill and my answer is No I would take my dog out or ask a friend or relative to walk him.

Your right Kathy is wasn't i just trying to open the topic up by asking if someone was made housebound would it be fair to to put the dog on a treadmill to keep it fit .

This wouldn't be any good for Rocky as he wouldn't get to see any of his friends or meet any new ones, no socialisation isn't good for him.

Off course not Kathy and i take your very good point of socializing our Dogs, you can't do that on a treadmill

I think it's an ok idea as a temporary measure nothing more , and Hayley I prefer the 2 nd vid , this is more like Tilly's build

i prefer the 1st second dog is overweight for me

Haven't looked at the links but treadmills are fine in moderation ! Hell I'd be using it with them lol !

If I had the space Suki would have a treadmill. Walks and socialization are important as well but nothing wrong with an alternative form of exercise
