my puppy is a mad one - she loves onions (she goes crazy when she smell them) leeks, carrots. Is it ok to give a small amount as a treat ?

Carrots - yes
Onions - no

Try a little sweet potatoe or butternut squash if she loves her veggies x

Onions shouldn't be given to dogs, as they can cause problems with the haemoglobin; the haemoglobin can clump and fail to transport enough oxygen around the dog's body. There was a health scare with that a while back, when onion powder was put into baby food, which vets used to feed some animals if they couldn't eat their regular food.

Carrots are fine, though! Smile
