i'm trying to teach people what to say or not to say... i was doing the food shopping yesterday i heard a bloke say that was lush i couldn't believe my ears he must of said it at least 3 times

yeah is sounds ok when you say it upside down .. but I agree with Steve, I really think it sounds daft when women anywhere other than Oz say it ..

Tho I have a guy on my team at work who is just past retirement age, and I often call him a "silly old c***" .. but in a jokey way

I know a rather hefty girl (very nice though ) always dressed quite manly and would quite often order breakfast in the hotel and address the waitress as mate , very very very wrong.
Awesome should be banned from all vocabularies as it is an american teenage girl phrase and nothing more and really really winds me up
"Actually" should be banned from children up to the age of 15-16 as it is just a prelude to a back answer (my daughter does this all the time ) along with "but" and "well"
The C word is perfectly fine though not in front of a Lady unless she uses it first (it's quite common in my house when Jenny is not around) and I think quite a popular word in Oz too ????

I used to work with a lad from Down Under and a lot of his phrases kinda rubbed off on me, in fact when I left that job I even sounded like an Ozzy, still do sometimes but I think that's just wishful thinking

My History teacher used to stop everyone every time they were answering a question whenever they said the word actually or like

"Totally" should never be used by anyone who isn't a 13 year old American girl. Just not cool. Besides that, I don't care what people say

Same here...I am all for breaking down the barriers of language though. We attach far too much meaning to it...I would never use it nastily or in polite/juvenile company. But I can throw the swears around with the best of em in the pub...for shame!!!

I very rarely use swearing for having a go, I see it as me losing ground if I resort to it in that context. I swear when I am having a laugh and a joke in social situations, or if I crack my head off the kitchen cupboards (which is constant as I never close the damn things )
