403 You don't have permission to access / on this server.

I am trying to get on a website i go on sometimes (a bird one) but i have got this message for like 1 week now. The admin on the site can't figure out why and it only happens on my wifi, i can get on fine if im on my phone 3G.

I don't own this website or have anything to do with it other than being a member.

Any ideas?

I got that once on the EBT forum I go on & it was some sort of blip with the server.

sounds like the root folder they have does not allow the www-data user to access it.

yea same here and if its not the root it may be the trunk if that dont work you could try putting a branch partition in

well http://ufaq.org doesnt resolve to a bird site for me. I also see your using safari which depending of security settings will try to list the root "/" directory contents instead of allowing the www redirect to take effect.

try http://WWW.ufaq.org and see if you get a site about netscape unofficial FAQ.

can you get to the site when your connected to wifi on your phone? ie, your laptop and phone cannot access the site on wifi but you can using 3G on your phone. if nothing on the wifi can see it then I'd say your public IP is in a range of blacklisted IP addresses your ISP has.

If your phone works with wifi and and your laptop doesnt I guess your missing part of the url (address) on the laptop which is why your browser is trying to list the root directory. check your phone to see if there is anything after http://ufaq.org/

thats just a screen shot off google cause i couldnt do it on my laptop lol thats not what im trying to find.

do you have the same internet provider on your phome and at home?

phone is just 3G i cant get on it if im using wifi through my phone

you need to get in touch with your internet provider

Cough..ahem dont like admiting this but im one of those guys that sit in a room with no windows and lots of flashy lights thats why i lovedogs so much they get me out into this thing you call daylight

Then a deny would suggest a blacklisted ip especially if your getting it on more than one site. Try a 10 min shutdown of your router and hope your allocated a ip not in the previouse range.
Also as steve says contact your isp anyway and let them do the hard work its what you pay them for. with all the mergers going on and takeovers its causing quite a few problems. Ive peronally had alot of problems prior to the olympics with service providers not knowing there * from there elbow.

only happening with that site. chatted to bt online and they said it looks like its been blocked for security reasons. its a budgie website! lol
