Alfie is 6 months old now, we have had all sorts of fun and games over the months trying to find a food that he seems to like, finally we arrived at Taste of the wild with a little Lukullus (wet food) mixed in he generally eats it quite well. However he poos about 5 or 6 times a day, i think this is too much, is it? if so what would be the reason?

I don't really monitor how often ours poo but at a guess I would say 4 or 5 times a day judging by me cleaning the garden

Seems a load of poo for both of you. Surprised
Can't recall my old boy Marley or any of the fosters going more than twice a day.
Five times a day has got to hurt. Surely. Laughing

Well he's a bit young still. Efficient intestinal tract!

I'd advise just waiting a while ....

Think I'll start a poo log to check the average rate of return. Laughing

nerd got me thinking too now . Well past the stage of going into the garden and praising them, they both know this time of the year it's an SAS job , faster they drop one the faster they get back in and they both have roughly similar poos so hard to say who's is who's and if 1 is doing all of them

If I go on long walks with Moo, she can have 3/4, since not walking her (we don't have a garden) its been when we go out so 2/3, tbh honest, I am with the fact that if Moo goes out its time to poo Laughing

Maybe that's my problem , if I trained them not to do it in the garden it would be more limited whereas now they just think it's take a dump heaven

Better out than in, Dave.
However, output is also a measure of waste and by-products.
Maybe they're not absorbing all they eat?

Going to have to keep a regular check on the garden, been out tonight and done it by torchlight (just) and it's just reminded me I need to replace the floodlight out back which I have been going to do for the last 6 years so we start here. Sometimes it's done first thing on morning sometimes later in day just depends if I'm outside with a coffee, fag and a few poo bags at the time

As a heavy smoker for many years you'd be surprised what I can do with a fag in my mouth , have to remember to take it out when I drink my coffee though Laughing

At 6 months I'd say that 5 or 6 times a day is a bit too much. Has he ever done less than that?

Just don't try and hold a poo bag & drink your coffee at the same time - you might try & drink from the wrong hand...........
