Skibadee has got pyo :'(

My poor little chicken has got pyometra. She was acting funny on Monday and not being herself and we couldn't work out what was wrong with her then yesterday she started to get a really heavy discharge. We rushed her into the vets yesterday evening and they have diagnosed her with pyo, poor little peach. So she has had an injection and some antibitotics to go home. They said once she has had it the chances of getting it again are very high so we have had to book her in for a spay tomorrow. I have been up with her all night though she isn't actually too bad in herself and is eating, drinking, pooing and peeing well. I have a job interview tomorrow morning too right when she is being taken into the vets! I doubt i'll do well with all this worry!

I think I will be a mess by tomorrow Janey so not hoping for miracles from the interview! I just want my baby-girl to be okay!

Poor Skibadee its so worrying when they aren't well. I'm sure everything with her op will go well, they seem to recover from things a lot faster than we do. Its good that she is eating and drinking ok.
Good luck with your job interview. Maybe they would be understanding if you said to them your dog is having an op.

Poor little thing! Pyo's a horrid thing, but at least you've caught it early.

Shame she has to be spayed, but it's the best way forward.

I know its not really the done thing but can you not reschedule the job interview for another day, if not good luck with it anyway, I'm sure all will be well.

Hi guys, the interview went ok, think I might have been a little bit scatty with Skib at the back of my mind but I didn't make too much of a mess of it! Have just spoken to the vets. They say the op went ok and she is starting to lift her head and move about a bit. So glad shes going to be ok, I was so worried about my little girl

Can you pick her up today?

Hiya, Skibadee is home now. She was a bit dopey and confused for a while but soon perked up and thank god she ate something by about 2am. I was up most of the night fussing over her but by this morning she seemed much brighter though she hasn't been for a wee yet since we got her back. I'm presuming this is becuase shes sore. She had an injection for pain relief yesterday before she left the vets but cant have anything else until tonight and she was walking like she was hurting this morning. I'm sure I will come back to a puddle tonight! But yep she is on the mend at least.

Yep no luck I didn't get it. Apparently though they have had somebody that has been doing the job on a fixed term contract for 6 months now. So think they were just advertising it as a formality. Seriously cannot wait to change my job though, if I have to listen to one more patient moan in my ear and tell me its my fault they have to wait for an appointment I think I will scream......
